Primary 7 have had a really busy term both inside and outside of school. A number of pupils sat the tests for Transfer 2010,which seemed to go on for ever but then there was our work with Glengormley High School.

- Early in October the class had 3 sessions with the Design/Techology department making ‘Mobile Phone Holders’. They got to use lots of equipement and successfully made their holders.

- As part of our ‘Victorians’ project we went to visit Crumlin Road jail and considered the harsh times of prisoners and families sent to the workhouses at that time.  This was a great visit and the guide was fantastic—she really made the visit come alive.  We also went to visit the ‘Nomadic’ which was in dry dock being repaired.  This ship helped carry passengers out to ‘Titanic’ in 1912 and to set foot on it was like being transported back in time.  Many of the features inside the ‘Nomadic’ were typical of those found on the ‘Titanic’.

- Early in November we were offered the opportunity to work with a group of Year 9 pupils at Glengormley High School on a STEM ( Science and Technology) project.  We had to design and make ‘Paper Aeroplanes’ and again we got to use some very special equipement.  Linked to this project was a visit from the Education officer at ‘Bomdardier’ in Belfast. our reward for this is a planned trip up in an aeroplane on the 8th of March—-great excitement. Throughout all this we have still carried on with our school work and homework and more homework and more homework. Now Christmas is here and apart from our Carol Service on Tuesday 22nd December the class have been out to sing a local Shopping Centre and a Day Centre.  It certainly has been a busy time for Primary 7 and I think they deserve their reward from ‘Santa’.
